TREVIGNON

A few years ago, my wife and I were on holiday in Brittany, staying at an inland location. One day, we decided to visit Pont Aven, where the painter Gauguin once lived and worked. Well it was extremely busy! Crowded with tourists visiting numerous arty shops. After about an hour we had had enough, and spotted on our map, a little harbour and village on the coast 10 miles south of Pont Aven. When we got there, it was spacious and quiet, and as we walked by the sea, a Skylark started singing overhead. It seemed to epitomise the contrast between the noise and clamour of Pont Aven and the peace and tranquility of Trevignon.

So I wrote this song. It was performed by the Seaford Baptist Singers choir in 2019.
