Trevignon
In 2015 we were on holiday in Brittany. One day we went to Pont Aven, where the painter Gauguin once lived and worked. It was crowded! Thousand of visitors in the dubious art shops.
We soon had had enough, and noticed a place named Trevignon on the coast a few miles to the south. On arriving there, the change was huge. Peace and quiet and lots of space.
While walking by the sea we suddenly heard a Skylark singing overhead. It seemed to epitomise the contrast between Pont Aven and Trevignon.
I immediately wrote two verses of this song, then added two more in 2019 ready for a performance by Seaford Baptist Church Singers choir.
